Creating Marketing Bounties and Contests

Marketing bounties and contests are created using the "Create Bounty" proposal in the DAO. For more information on bounties and contests, please see the features section.

In order to create a bounty or contest, the marketing fund must have enough LAND. The marketing wallet is funded with the Add to Marketing Fund proposal.

Creating a bounty

In order to create a bounty, you must first verify that that marketing fund has enough LAND. The marketing fund balance can be seen on the main DAO page. If the marketing fund does not have enough LAND to support the bounty, the proposal will be deleted.

The bounty can be formatted in any way you like, but should generally include the following information:

  • Total LAND to be distributed

  • Timeframe to perform task

  • Method of distribution (raffle, first come first served, etc)

  • Amount of LAND per participant

  • Number of participant slots

  • Task(s) to be completed

  • Detailed explanation

Below is a simple example of a marketing bounty proposal with a raffle format:

Title:

Like and Retweet Landshare posts on Twitter

Description:

This proposal seeks to create a marketing bounty to increase engagement on Twitter.

  • Total LAND distributed: 200 LAND

  • Timeframe: 1 week

  • Method of Distribution: Raffle

  • LAND per winner: 10

  • Number of winners: 20

  • Task to be completed: Like and retweet Landshare posts

This bounty will incentivize engagement with Landshare tweets with a raffle. To enter the raffle, like and retweet Landshare Twitter posts dated on or after the first day of this bounty going live. Each like + retweet counts as one entry. After 1 week, 20 winners will receive 10 LAND each.

Here is another example using a first come, first served format.

Title:

Post about Landshare on Coinmarketcap

Description:

This proposal seeks to create a marketing bounty to encourage holders to post about Landshare on Coinmarketcap.

  • Total LAND distributed: 100 LAND

  • Timeframe: 1 week

  • Method of Distribution: First come first served

  • LAND per participant: 5

  • Number of winners: 20

  • Task to be completed: Post about Landshare on Coinmarketcap

This bounty would reward the first 20 LAND holders who post about Landshare on Coinmarketcap. Entries must be high quality and include specific details about the benefits of Landshare.

If the proposal is successful, an administrator will create a new Snapshot post that will provide instructions for submitting entries to the bounty based on the format outlined in the original proposal. Administrators will also verify entries are legitimate and high quality to the greatest extent possible, and distribute rewards accordingly.

Creating a Contest

Contests are similar to bounties, except that winners are voted on instead of selected through a raffle or first come first served basis. Contests should be used specifically for things like content creation (videos, memes, articles) and have higher rewards than bounties to incentivize participation.

A contest should include the word "contest" in the title, to distinguish it from a bounty. Here is an example:

Title:

Landshare Video Contest

Description:

This proposal seeks to create a contest for the best Landshare related videos on Youtube or TikTok.

  • Total Prize pool: 1000 LAND

  • Timeframe: 2 weeks

  • 1st prize: 500 LAND

  • 2nd place: 300 LAND

  • 3rd place: 200 LAND

In order to enter the contest, you must create and upload a new, original Youtube or TikTok video about the Landshare platform. After the 2 week submission period, the community will vote for the top 3 videos.

If the proposal is successful, admins will receive submissions for the timeframe outlined in the proposal, and then the community will be able to vote for winners in a followup Snapshot post.
